Birth not registered; impossible to get non-availability of birth certificate letter

Please.......... help!

I am 66 in Mumbai and my son in US wants to petition for my GC. But in 1947 when I was born there were no system of birth register. Not I ever been to remote Punjab village where I was born I don’t know any one there. Even if I now locate my birth place, it be near to impossible to get such non availability certificate from municipal authorities.

I have my School leaving certificate, driving license, PAN card etc showing date of birth along with an affidavit form my uncle. Would I still need the non-availability certificate for birth? Please help with the right alternative.

Yes, you still need that certificate.

You have to just ask them to give you a certificate that your name is not there in their records.
