Marriage and petition for family based immigration

I have one dilemma... I hope that someone can give answer to my question.

I want to marry to US citizen but early in time my brother (also US citizen) filled petition for family immigration for me?

Can I get marry in that case?

Yes you can marry. A petition in F4 category will not be affected by marriage. Good luck.

Someone told me that if I marry to US citizen - but earlier in time some one filed petition for me probably I will have issues on interview with immigration officers - they will see that petition is filed for me and may be suspicious to give me approval????
