Please Advise - AOS concern h1b married to usc

I am on valid h1b visa until 2014. My fiance is a us citizen but residing in a different state. Would it be advisable to quit job right after marriage as we do not wish to have a long distance marriage.
Would this be advisable. Do i run the risk of going out of status as I would no longer be maintaining my h1 status.

Will my quitting the job have any adverse impact on my immigration case ?
Or
Would it be better if i continue job on h1 until I get i-130 approved ?
