Need help please - GC for parents and Brother

Hi,

I want to know which is the fastest way to get GC for my own brother in India . He is 32 and not married.

1. Can I apply GC for my parents first and once they get GC then can they apply for GC for my brother ? And if so do u know how long it will take to get GC for my brother ?

2. Can I apply GC for my brother as I am a US citizen ?

3. Does anybody know how long it will take to get GC for my parents ?

GC to parents = 1 to 2 years
GC from parent to son (F2B) = 8 years

You can file 2 petitions just in case 1 fails you have a backup (esp if your parents are old already).

So what do u mean by 2 petitions ? R u saying that Myself and my parents both should apply GC for my brother ?

And can u please tell me the total cost from the beginning till the end for applying a GC?

When you become a USC file a petition for your brother, and your parent. Right now an I-130 petition costs $420. When your parent gets the GC he/she can file also a petition for your brother. So there will be 2 concurrent petitions in the pipeline. Your brother can pursue whichever comes first. There are other costs when the petition is about to be current. It can change in time so I cannot give you the cost now.

If my parents apply for GC for my brother (age 32 and not married) , can my brother get married before getting the GC or should he wait untill he gets the GC which will take about 8 yrs ?

As long as your parent (the one who petitions your brother) is not yet a USC your brother cannot get married or else the petition will be revoked. Once the petitioner becomes a USC your brother can get married. But if you are the one who will petition your brother he can get married anytime.
