  • F2b Unmarried Son

My parents are now in USA and having a green card, I could not go with them because base on the priority date 1997, I were 330 days over 21yrs old (under CSPA). My parent now applied for me under f2b , How long should I have to wait ? Will 1997 be counted as my priority date?
Please help and advice on my status
    Thanks
    Kitty

Unfortunately the answer is No. The wait for LPR(Legal Permanent Resident) such as your parents F2B petition is 10 years but it seems more than that. Big advice is to tell your parents not to apply for citizenship until you get to the U.S. unless immigration laws change. That's because there's long Backlog for U.S. citizens petitioning unmarried son/daughter over 21. I know these stuff bec my brother was over aged too when we received our visa.

Hi even i am in a similar situation. My parents and my sister stays in the US. My sister got married to a US citizen and she did migrate to the US before my parents did. My parents have filed for me after they reached the US. Now how long would it take for me to get an interview call. Some of my relatives say that it would take close to 5yrs. In my case would it be easier if my sister too files for me ?? or do i go tru my parents.

PS : they would want to apply for citizenship ASAP once they are eligible for the same. Would they becoming a citizen make it fast for the US govt to call me for the visa interview....??
