Hi,
I am a H-1B worker in U.S.A and I will marry to my boyfriend who is a green card holder very soon.
He could apply citizenship next year in April, but we will get married this year.
The question is : am I required to apply the green card as soon as we get married?
I know it takes 3-4 years to get approved if I do so now, so I think it's better for me to wait until he becomes a citizen.
But I am not sure if it's o.k.to do so.
Will INS ask me why I delay my green card application when he becmes the citizen in the future?
Do I need to do anything when we get married ?
Is it o.k. to still have my H-1 unchanged after we get married?
Please help me, thank you.
