  • immigrate my parents

Hello all, I have a question about me applying green card for my parents back at my home country.
I plan to change my name when I apply for US citizen because my current name is really hard to pronounce.

My question is that after I become US citizen, and have a new name, when I provide proof of relative relationship between me and my parents, which name shall I have on the certificate? Both names?

The thing is that I have already have the relationship certificate made under my old name.
IF I request to have both my old name and new American name to be on the family relationship certificate, officer that provide this document at my home country wont acknowledge my new name because it is not under their system, they would refuse to put both my old and my current name on the relationship certificate.

would USCIS accept proof of family relationship with only my past name on?

If you guys have similar experience, would you please help with my question? Thank you so much!

    Name change

When you become USC, you get name change certificate with Naturalization certificate. You can put both copies in paperwork to show your name change throughout immigration process. If you do not want to make things complicated, I honestly suggest to keep same name without going through hassles in process. You can always change your name afterwards after your parents migrate.
