I plan to apply for my parents green card in November while they visit me for 6 months on their visitor's visa.
USCIS website says to apply for parent's green card I will need my birth certificate with both the parents name in it. I already have a affidavit of Birth Certificate with my parents name included. However, I have read several posts where people mentioned about Parents Birth Certificate. Will that be at all required? It is difficult to get their Birth Certificate (both 60+ age) and will be a long wait. They are scheduled to be here mid- Nov this year.
Another related question is about their Marriage Certificate. My parents got their marriage registered recently under Hindu Marriage Act and duly signed by a Hindu Marriage Registrar (licensed under Hindu Marriage Act). Do they have to get it stamped by Department of External Affairs which is again a long process?!!
Any advice will be highly appreciated.
