Hi,
my father is in the proceedings of getting me my family based green card, can I also apply for the lottery of the diversity visa program?

Does the diversity visa/green card lottery interfere in any way with the process of the family based GC?

I'm just too anxious and my country qualifies for the lottery, so I would like to register there and demonstrate some effort for going to the USA of my own volition.

I'm not sure about this, I think I've read somewhere that things like this are mostly rejected.

Yes you can enter DV lotto at the same time that your family based immigrant petition is pending. I think its up on November 02, and its very basic so you can easily do it yourself. Good Luck !
