  • Adjustment of status application when husband and wife live in different states

    Hi All,
Thanks in advance for your help and support.
I'm getting married this Saturday to a USC. The problem is i'm currently living and working in New York and she is living in working in Georgia. I'm planning to move to Georgia in 4 months. Can i file the adjustment of status application in Georgia? As we will be in a long distance relationship, how i will prove that its bonna fide marriage?

Any tips and guidance is much appreciated.
    Thank

you can file, and you don't file in any state you file with the federal government. it will be a difficult case to prove since you don't live together, best file and get the paperwork going and gather evidence. and so you don't go out of status. prove a bona fide marriage? each case different they realize families live apart.

it's hard to convince them, that happened to me and they didnt give me the greencard when we are apart, only after we are living and was called for another interview that they gave me my greencard
