I want to apply for mom's green card but the problem is my mom does not have a marriage certificate. My parents marriage was never registered. My dad passed away and we do have the death certificate. It says on the website that affidavit will not be accented. When she got married by maulive she was under 18. Oh, I am from Bangladesh. Could you advised me what can be in this situation? Thanks a lot.

This is just a suggestion based on experience.
1. If there is no birth/marriage certificate, you can use your mother's any govt issued identity proof to file an affidavit in a local court (bangladesh).
2. According to the affidavit local agency (i.e, Vital Records or Birth & Marriage Registry) will issue the birth certificate if you show some "appreciation". Getting a marriage certificate is impossible in this situation.
3. To prove mother/father to son/daughter relationship, these tests will be useful. They are a bit costly.
Hope this helps.

For sponsoring mother, you need only your birth certificate that has her name. Her marriage certificate is NOT required. It would be required if you were sponsoring your father, though.Immihelp Support
