Parent needs to travel outside USA before the adjustment of status

I am a US citizen and I have applied for my parents greencard while they are visiting USA. The bio-metrics has been done. But now my mother has a medical situation and needs to go back to India to get the treatment. There I-485 is still pending. They still have a valid visitor visa. My question is would it impact their application if they go out while the I485/EAD/AP is still pending and they comeback again after couple of months? Thanks.

Since an Adjustment of Status is pending, your mother might not be allowed back into the U.S. with her visitor visa, since she has expressed "Intent to immigrate." She should wait until she has the Advance Parole, which should have been applied for with your I-485 package.

You can google "emergency advance parole" and follow the instructions that CIS and the ombudsman give.
