My parents went for GC consular processing at Mumbai this week, but were sent back without an interview, because they were missing the medical report (sputum test delayed it). They were given back all the originals that the NVC had sent to the consulate.
Weirdly, there were a few things missing from the documents that the consulate returned.
1) My affidavit of support for mom (affidavit for dad was in the returned stack).
2) Both their police report originals (copies were in the returned stack).
3) Both their photos.
So, the question is: did the NVC screw up in sending these to the consulate (although the NVC letter says that they were sent)? Or did the consulate hold these back for whatever reason? In the former case, we will have to get new originals, I suppose.
Anyone experienced something similar, that you can share?
