Check greencard status

So we entered usa on 21st november. They gathered all new immigrants in one special area where they took signatures and finger-prints. Entire thing took about 3 hours as there were too many ppl. Now its been 3 weeks and we might get our greencards soon apparently. Is there anyway to check the status or something?

Also my parents stayed back and i had to come back to india for my studies and i have my final exams in may after which i will go back. It would be just around 7.5 months when i m back and i hope it doesnt create much problem as it will be the first time and it was not possible for me to come back within 6 months :| .

We have almost the same problem, entered the US on Sept 12, 2013 and yet the Plastic card has not been received!!! By the way have you received yours? Any advice?
