Dear Sir,

My friend came to USA on 6th Aug., 1997. He was on B1-B2 visa. He never left country and stayed USA. His visa's validity expired. After that his father has got US Citizenship last week (9/21). He wants to change his immigration status. Your guidence is highly appreciated.

You may, however, have a problem because of an expired visa and technically, you are staying in the country illegally.
