Once you arrive in the U.S. you can apply for a Reentry Permit to be allowed to come back up to two years after you leave. But before you leave again, after submitting the Reentry Permit application (form I-131), you must complete the Biometrics requriement for the I-131 submittal, You might not have that scheduled and completed for up to 4 weeks after your I-131 application is received by USCIS.

The Reentry Permit must be applied for before you leave the U.S., though you could sign the application form, and have someone in the U.S. submit it just before you reenter the U.S., to save a few days. The Biometrics would then be scheduled a couple of weeks after the I-131 is received by USCIS. There is no reason to use an attorney to fill out this simple form and submit it, unless you are reluctant to fill out and sign the form youself.
