  • Quick question

I applied through my parents under Single unmarried child, which puts me under the first category.

    I received my I-130 approval.

Since then I got married, which will affect my application and have it drop to 3rd category.

My question: If I get divorced now through a quick uncontested divorce, will my application carry on as usual, as if the marriage never happened, or is my application ruined thats it?

    Thank you

In my opinion, marriage followed by divorce, with a subsequent immigration benefit based on single status, has a cloud of fraudulent circumvention of the visa requirements. I can't say if there is a USCIS rule which applies to this situation, but I would not test it.
