Hi,
I have been in the US for 3 years on an L1A Visa and I am recently married to an American Citizen.
We have not started the green card process yet and a job opportunity has come up with a different company than the sponsor organization for my L1A. I have a 3 month notice period with the company I work for today so I assume my L1 would not be cancelled until i cease to be employed by the company.
If my wife and I initiate the green card process, at what stage do I qualify to stay in country and be able to work for another company or do I have to leave? Can I qualify to stay and work under an i-765 employment authorization whilst I wait for the green card to be processed (after I sit out the 3 months notice period)?
