  • Waiting forever on I-130

Hi, I married my husband while in removal proceedings back in 2011. Our then lawyer suggested we file I-130 in March of 2013 in hopes that the judge would close the case. That of course failed but the judge granted voluntary departure and my husband was forced to leave in June of 2013. Since I have failed to get any questions answered by the lawyer, I have started to seek others and from what I'm getting from everyone is that we should have received an interviewed months ago. We are looking at waiting almost a year! In November, we did receive a letter from USCIS stating that the case had been transferred to the Nebraska center and we should expect to receive an interview within 60 days. Still nothing. I did call and all I get is that the application is still being processed. Can anyone please help me? Is there anything that can be done and at this point is it worth it to hire a new lawyer? I am aware I-130 does not take this long from what I've seen with relatives, did the removal proceedings cause this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
