Hi,
I'm a US citizen & last April, my girlfriend came over from the UK on the VWP. On the day she was due to return to UK, we realised we couldn't be apart & she took the decision to stay here. We married in February this year & her overstay has been more than 6 months now. We're both quite terrified of the circumstances but I really want to make her status here completely legal so that she will be able to work & we can eventually start a family. Can anybody tell me what form/s I need to fill out & what potential consequences we might be facing? The very last thing I want is for her to be deported & banned from returning.
