  • Questions regarding I-130 Petition for my wife

    Hi All,

I'm in the process of filing for an I-130 petition for my wife. Our marriage took place outside of the US. I'm a US citizen and she's an Indian citizen. Can anyone please answer the following questions:

    1) What all documents need to be submitted for the marriage proof besides the Marriage certficate?

    2) During the marriage ceremony, I tied a turban but I'm clean shaven otherwise. If we submit the wedding pictures, do we need to include an explanation?

I'll appreciate any time and help.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply. I have one more question. My wife doesn't use his family name on her passport. She only uses her first name and middle name. While filling out the forms with this petition, do we need to indicate her family name?

Use the name Exactly as it is appeared in passport and birth certificate. In my opinion you should not use family name in the form if it is not appeared in the passport

Thank you very much for replying. Someone told me that the last name cannot be left blank but I'm not sure what to do in that case.
