  • Spouse visa/Green card through marriage

I am a Malaysian who is married to an American citizen. My green card application has been approved and the case is now in the process of being transferred from the NVC to the US embassy in malaysia. I met my husband KB through an online matrimonial site in April 2012. I went to the US in Nov 2012 (first visit) and Dec 2012 (second visit) on a tourist visa to visit a cousin and also to visit KB. After the second visit ( Dec 2012), we planned to get married and we registered our marriage in MArch 2013 in Malaysia. If i am asked at the interview regarding my previous US visits, is it safe to mention that I had gone on a tourist visa to visit KB prior to getting married? Will that raise suspicions about immigrant intent?
We have been married for almost one year and we are waiting eagerly to be together. I hope I can get feedback from anyone with experience as I am praying that the visa interview goes on smoothly to prevent further delay. Thank you.

It would be prudent to not volunteer that you used a visitor visa with the intention of meeting your future husband. There is nothing wrong with admitting that you met and spent time with each other while you were in the U.S. on a visitor visa.

The general advice which has been beneficial is to not volunteer any information during such interviews, but to answer direct questions with reasonable, succint responses.
