  • Citizen getting remarried questions!!!

    Dear All,

Please take some time to help us:

I am a citizen (guy) and married a non-citizen a couple of years ago; my wife received a conditional green card almost right away and will receive a permanent status very soon; after permanent green card received, we will devorce (real relations, not a sham; just a matter of circumstances). I met a non-citizen girl, fell in love and plan to marry right after the divorce.

Since both marriages are/were/will be with the involvement of immigration processes, a few questions that kind of bothering us (myself and my girl):

    1. Do we need to wait for a certain period of time between 'divorce' and 're-marriage'?
    2. Will the immigration process be much more complicated and time-consuming because of the 1st marriage?

The situation is 100% real, no fraud or scam of any kind.

Please help with the legit answers, opinions are highly appreciated, professional recommendations are greatly welcomed.
    Thank you!

There are no barriers to your remarryng after your divorce and initiating immigration paperwork for the new wife.

On the other hand, your joint filing of the "Removal of Conditions" application (I-751) may be questioned if a divorce and new marriage follows right after your prior wife got her 10-year card.

Thank you for your response. Both bulletpoints are logical, i definitely expect some complications (additional questions and probably proof...)
