Hi All,
My mom recently got her US immigration visa approved at the Mumbai consulate. She had an old expired passport in addition to her current active passport. After the interview, she is not sure if she got back her old passport though the current is in transit to reach her after the immigration visa stamping. She doubts that she might have lost the old expired passport accidently. The lost expired passport did *not* have any valid visa on it. I am very much worried and i have the following questions.
1. Is it important for her to have the old passport during her travel (Airport as well as port of entry)?
2. Do we need to file an FIR for the loss of this expired passport ?
3. Has anyone faced this situation before and how did you handle it?
Any suggestions in this regard is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
