H1b, engaged, job suddenly ending. Do I have to leave before I marry?

Hi, I am currently working in the US with and am currently engaged to be married in September. My boss just informed me that our project is running out of money and we'll have enough to run until the end of the month- so less than/= 2 weeks notice. My fiance is working in NY (where we met in school, i'm in PA now). I also have a B1/2 visa. What is my best option? Should I try to marry before the end of this month-I'm afraid that I would still be out of status by the time I submit the paperwork. The money to leave and come back I could use for the application fees. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks
