  • Police certificate for IV _and_ Medical?

Hello, I am currently at the stage of waiting for my IV to be invoiced for a resident visa to go and live with my wife in the United States.

Under the list of documents required for the IV, it includes a police certificate, but the London Embassy website says that I am also required to provide a police certificate to the examiner at my medical, do I need two separate copies of the certificate for this, or will my IV be sent on to the medical examiner/interviewer or returned back to me so that I only need one police certificate?

    Thank you.

A "police cert to the medical examiner" sounds like a unique requirement, as I've never heard of anything comparable when dealing with about 15 other U.S. Embassy/consulate requirements. Perhaps you have cited that requirement out of context. At the least, it may be that the medical examiner is supposed to forward the police clearance to the Embassy, but I am only guessing. IF you could provide a snapshot of the verbiage that you read which details that requirement, it might be more conducive to a response.

Applicants aged 16 and over are required to furnish a U. K. police certificate in support of their immigrant visa application. A copy of this police certificate must be presented to the panel physician on the day of the medical examination.
