If I am already studying in USA as a international student, do I need to go back home for the green card process when my call comes or is it possible to do the same from the USA ?

If an immigrant petition for you is approved, and you have "Immediate Priority," i.e., a visa slot is available, you can be processed in the U.S. while here on a student visa.
