Can parent's travel during green card process?

my father has 10 year multiple entry visa and currently in USA. Can he travel back to India after filing green card? does he has to wait for any document to travel back to India? Please help.

Yes, they can, as long as the file an I-131

I am assuming that your parents are here in the States and they will be adjusting status here, correct? , if the answer is yes, then they can travel, but only if they file for, and obtain an approved I-131, Application for Travel Document.

They can file the I-131 along with the I-485, and it is free to do so. (included with the I-485 filing fee)
