I got hold of a US visa already as a derivative of my father, my question is we are planning to go to the US by december but I need to go back to my home country to finish schooL, how can i do that? i've heard that i need a re-entry permit, but how long will it take to get a re-entry permit because I can only have 3 weeks vacation? and are there any other suggestions for me to do? thanks

You need to apply for reentry permit while you are in the US. You don't have to wait for it to get approved.

Follow up questions:

1. it says in the requirements that the application needs
a "photocopy of the green card" but i dont have green card yet.. what should i do?

2. since i can only stay for 3 weeks in the US, where should i file the re-entry permit
application? (port of entry is California)

3. Are all applications needed to be mailed or can i just go to the service centers to
personally file them?

4. If the application is to be filed by mail, how can i pay the fees? (except paying in check)

1. Send a copy of I-551 stamp in the passport.

2. Look at mailing address in the form at /show-form/i-131

3. You need to mail. You can't visit the service center.

where can i see or get the I-551 stamp? How long is it valid? thanks

Once enter US for the first as a new immigrant, you will get that stamp in your passport.
