  • Family based green card interview done. It's been 2 months.

Hello everyone. My mother has had a family based interview with adjustment of status about 2 months ago in 26 Federal Plaza in NY, and it was to my understanding that there would be a response within 30 to 60 days.

However, the most recent receipt/application number I have seems to be only related to the actual interview and does not provide any additional information on My Case Status webpage.

I was wondering if this is normal, and I understand that we're still in the 60 day timeframe but was starting to get just a bit worried. Assuming this delay is not related to this particular case, and rather something more general, is past 60 days still relatively normal?

Thank you all in advance, and have a good day!

    immigration courts are backlogged

    Hi akonet83,

I believe there is an immigration backlog in courts across the country.

It is my understanding some of the computer systems used by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services have also been causing delays. As a first suggestion, I would consider calling the USCIS New York office for an update on the status of your case. I checked their website and found the following information, "You may also call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 (TDD: 800-767-1833). If your case is outside of our current processing time, a customer service representative will request that USCIS research your case and contact you with further information. "

I hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you for your reply Vyeva. I'm sorry I had not seen your reply sooner, but much appreciate it.

It turns out that the application was rejected, and I'm putting up a more detailed post on this for any assistance separately.

Nonetheless, I appreciate you taking time out to reply on this post.
