Hello,
my sister (US citizen) got married back in 2011 with someone who was over seas (they got married over seas). now i was being young at that time and not knowing much, she told me and my family that she has to stay there 2 months before she can come back and than fill out his paper work. If possible i would like to know if this is true as if something like this happens to me or family/friends as i do not recall hearing or seeing any information about this anywhere.
also, there has been problem in marriage and he requires her to do everything for him (cooking cleaning and making him priority before herself and not helping despite living with us in family home for free) and rather than ending the marriage (which she is planning) i was wondering if there is any way that conditional GC can be extended without letting him getting his permanent GC (i know this is stupid of me but never hurts to asks) he kept telling us he didn't married her for GC (which was doubt on all our minds from start and still is) as personally she is my sister and rather than seeing her marriage brake a part we as family would like to give little more time for him to change if he's willing to. also if his conditional GC expires can he stay in US (i found somewhere that he can not work, nor can he get back in the US if he left/outside of US at the time it expires if the next step has not been taken) and can she have things progress forward after some time.
i did read that if removal of condition is applied you get year extended. is there interview or other steps where (if things doesn't work out) my sister can refuse to help him in permanent GC or once it's applied he will get the permanent gc no matter if he gets divorce or conditions has changed?!
sorry if something similar to this was asked here i tried but couldn't get the search tool work properly nor was any help on google (majority of guide from US gov or others with same copy paste materials)
thank you and i appreciate you taking time to read/answer your thoughts on this.
