  • baby born in us with my ex

    Hello everyone,
I wander if you can help. Last year I was in America on a visitors visa and my I married my girlfriend at the time (u.s citizen) while I was there before my 3month travel visa expired I returned back to Great Britain and split up with her with a view for us to divorce.
Next thing you know she's pregnant and dates show that I am the father etc. She has apparently put me on the birth certificate and I currently buy him formula, nappies wipes etc over the internet to support him. Now I want to go back and be part of his life. So I want to know how does a baby petition for me? As far as my relationship with his mother is concerned she has filed for divorce so that's ok I don't want to be with her, but I think she would fill in the paperwork on our sons behalf?

I don't know how this would work

    Regards

The child cannot petition you until she turns 21. For now your paternal relationship will have no bearing on possible immigration eligibility.
