Help with applying for green card for parents

I'm a US citizen. My parents are visiting here on visitor visa. I want to apply for their green card. Should I apply I 130 or apply 130 and I 485 concurrently. Once I apply can they go back and forth without any problem. They have a valid visitor visa. I would really appreciate your help.
