i married my wonderful wife on 31st may this year. we havent put any paperwork in yet, as, through my work, i have a B1/B2 visa, and she is studying to be a nurse, and as such doesnt make enough to sponsor me.
i am currently working on yachts, all over the world, and at the moment, work 8 weeks away, 8 weeks at home. so we have been using my visa, to enter the us legally.
i am desperate to get out of the industry i am in, and would really like to be home with my wife more, and have the opportunity to take a job should one arise. to that end, i dont want to wait til my wife graduates, and start the application as soon as possible.
my question is this: when i am off for 8 weeks, i still earn my salary. a very decent salary. and from october through to march-april, the boat will be based in florida, near home. so when i am due back on my rotation, i will still be in the us. my application can continue, and i will still be supporting myself, my wife and my step-children. is there any way, that this can be taken into consideration when submitting the AoS?.can my wife claim my wages as her own, as it goes into the joint account?. is there anyway around this, or am i best to suck it up, and save up, and wait until she has graduated?
many thanks in advance.
