Marriage certificate -Nri green card holder
Dear all,
I am hoping if someone can throw light on process of marriage certificate in India.
I am a green card holder living in NYC and hold indian passport. My fiancé is a indian citizen. We are getting married through Hindu rituals in dec 2014. Post our wedding I wanted to start the f2a process for my to be wife. Fortunately she got selected for h1 lottery and her h1 is to be approved ie stamping to be done. Our wedding is in bhopal(mp) and I wanted to know the hassle free way to get marriage certificate. Any suggestion ..should I go for court marriage before rituals or should I wait until actual ceremony in dec. If I go for court marriage how soon can I get marriage certificate?
Also any idea if indian embassy here in the US can add my spouse name to my passport or issue me a marriage certificate. Getting a certificate in India seem to be a night mare and I am hearing mixed opinions.
