You must submit form I-751 with $590 fee to USCIS to apply for your 10-year Green Card. If still married at 2 years and 9 months from issue date of your first Green Card, you can apply for Naturalization.

The I-751, Removal of Conditions, average 6-8 months. Naturalization, after the 10-year card is received, average about 6 months.
You must apply for the I-751 in the 90-day period preceding expiration of her 2-year Green Card.
There are no "recommendations" for documents to submit. The form instructions on the USCIS website ( http://www.uscis.gov ) are very clear about document requirements. If you have specific questions about the needed documents feel free to ask.

When submitting the I-751, to apply for your 10-year card, you automatically receive a one-year extension to your Conditional status. If it takes a year or more before you have the 10-year card, you can get an additional one-year extension to your Conditional status.
I had several clients in Philly whose I-751 processing went beyond a full year and they received second 1-year extension (followed shortly thereafter by interviews and 10-year cards).
