Hi, is there anyone here who knows about how long it takes after priority date Becomes Current (i am outside U.S) before you hear anything? My priority date was now in August 2014 and have not hard anything from my NVC center (New Hampshire) Have paid all fees and filled out all the papers they wished. Waiting now for my number, and instructions on next steps. Would be very grateful if there is anyone here who knows about how long it usually takes before you hear anything. Already waiting over 11 years.

What paperwork and what fees have you paid? Are these the NVC-required fees $88 and $230 (now changed since Sept 9)? Have you sent the sponsorship and civil documents?

Talked with NVC center in August, and then they said we would hear something by the end out of August or early September. But we have not heard anything.
Do you know approximately how long it might take?
About how long does it usually take after the current PD, before anything happens?

When NVC staff told you "end of August or early September," what were they talking about? Completion of review of your documents or interview appointment package?
Everything has been slow with NVC the last few months. Approximately what date ("earlier this year") did you mail the sponsorship and civil documents?
Have you completed the DS-260 online form?

The girl my husband spoke with the NVC was not so specific with what was going to happen in early September just that we would hear from them. So, unfortunately, do not know what she meant exactly.
yes the DS-260 online form is done long ago. We submitted the civil documents for about four weeks ago. Paid the fees in June. (And got the letter in which we were asked to pay in January) the on NVC said it was no hurry to pay. However, we have not received anything from NVC saying that we would submit the civil documents yet. We did it anyway.
We know that the embassy here in Sweden has about a waiting period of one Month to go there for interjuv after they received all the paperwork from our NVC center.
But we really want to know approximately how long it will take before something happens at NVC, since we previously heard that it usually takes about three months before it is all ready after current PD. Super hard to plan when we don`t know if it is three months or 12 before it is "finished" with everything.

The NVC doesn't really send instructions about submitting civil documents, as you are expected to submit them after you pay the $230 fee (now $325) and can download the cover page.
What does happen regularly, however, is that "reminder" notices are generated automatically and unpredictably after the DS-260 is reviewed, to tell you to submit either sponsorship or civil documents, or both, even after you have submitted those packets.
The NVC staff have not been able to provide accurate timeframes over the telephone, mainly because they are in the dark about current NVC processing schedules.
My take, based on what you have posted here, is that a completion notice should be received by you from the NVC anytime, with an interview or Embassy contact notice a couple of weeks after that.

GC Process & timeline
I am an Indian married to a GC holder. Presently in US on an H1B and hence hoping to file for adjustment of status.
DEC 15 - Priority Date / Filed for I-130
APRIL 7 -Approval of I-130
As per my understanding current processing is for Nov 22, 2015 priority date . Is that correct?
When can I file for AOS & EAD? Can I do so now or only after priority date becomes current?
What will be the general timeline of things to follow - AOS, biometric, interview, getting GC etc.?
During this time, can I travel to India?
Thanks in advance!Last edited by asn2212; 12-11-2016, 10:10 AM.
