I485 Interview very short Easy, verbally approved no written confirmation or stamps

I can't really correct you about anything, as there is no "right" or "wrong" approach to finding out where you are in the Green Card quagmire.

While there are average timeframes and predictable events, there is a very high percentage of Green Card packages which process at both ends of the timeframe range.

Just to update, today Oct 30,2014 USCIS Field office director replied in response to my letter to them, main points in the letter as below:

"USCIS received your inquiry dated October 16,2014. Your application... (Form I485) is currently pending review at the Chicago Field Office. Every effort is being made to render an accurate and final decision in a timely manner. We remain committed to processing cases within a reasonable period of time. We ask for your patience and promise to continue to seek resolution on your case."

Just to update, today Oct 30,2014 USCIS Field office director replied in response to my letter to them, main points in the letter as below:

Interview appearance completed for all four of us on 09/15/2014, I485 verbally approved. Info pass appointment appearance on 10/16/14,
It’s now more than 8 months since I485 application and more than 60 days since I485 interview. No I485 approval notice and no Green Card yet.

11/18/2014 9:30am approx., called USCIS customer service 1800-375-5283 (8am-6pm).
Talked to Stacy (if you want to talk to live person, always enter the option “ I don’t have receipt no/ lost the notice, you will ultimately transferred to live person)
All four application details were discussed (I-485) “application to register permanent residence OR adjust the status”
Summary of discussion:

Receipt #, Application date (03/07/2014), I485 interview date (09/15/2014).
Immigration Interview officer recommended for I485 approval on 09/15/2014.
No update or no formal approval notice as of today (11/18/14): more than 60 days after interview and more than 8 months after application.
The rep on the phone checked and found out no card (green card) has been ordered to produce as of today, so she will forward today’s inquiry to the immigration officer.
She said within 15-30 days USCIS will respond to today’s phone inquiry by email or mail.
The reference no was given as: TIB **** **** CHI
So wait and watch but at least this saved me another trip to USCIS downtown office/ another Info pass appointment
