Is it safe to travel abroad during Family Based Green Card Processing

I am a US citizen and am applying Greeen Card for my parents. My parents are currently on visitor's visa in US.


1) I am also applying for I 131 travel document along with GC application. How long does it take to get the approval?

2) During this process, if they want to visit India for few months will that cause any issues? Do they need Approved I 131 for travel?

2. They would need approved I-131 to return. As long as they have it, it is not a problem.
