Visa Application Online or offline?

My case was completed in dec 2010 (F4) with offline visa application and was waiting for visa interview call, but due to retogration we havent received the interview call, now it is about to come, but now visa appliacation is online (DS-260), so is it required to fill online visa application before interview call (before my PD become current), please guide, thanks..
