    Hello everyone,
I am married to an LPR. My i130 was approved back in July 2014, but the approval notice stated that my case was being archived at USCIS since my priority date, which is February 28, 2014 is not current. My question is, is this a normal procedure? I have read cases online that their files were never forwarded to the NVC even after their priority dates were current. Is this an anomaly or the norm. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you community.

It is normal, but you need to keep track of Priority Dates by checking on the State Department Visa Bulletin every month or so.

Thank you ray. One more question, so by default they (USCIS) should forward my application to NVC once my priority date is current or just before its about to be current? Or do I have to talk to USCIS to forward it?

It's usually fairly automatic between USCIS and the NVC.
