  • Police Clearance Certificate

    Hi Salam,

I am a Pakistani citizen waiting for my immigrant visa from NVC, (F2A category). Currently i am working in Saudi Arabia and it has been almost 4 years here now, but now m planning to go back pakistan, so before going back i am trying to get a police clearance certificate form Saudi because if i leave Saudi without the Police Clearance Certificate i will not be able to get it at a latter stage when it is required, but the Saudi Authorities need a request letter from the US embassy and the US embassy needs the request letter form the NVC which i don't have right now since i am still in the waiting list. In this scenario what shall i do, what can be done, can anybody help me.

This is what we refer to as a "catch 22." The following verbiage is from the official U.S. State Department instructions for various civil documents for most countries. The Saudi citation for police clearances if you are no longer residing in Saudi Arabia is "...Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom...."

The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad will be expecting the original and certified civil documents (due to a recent shift from the NVC to Consulate review of original documents), and you will have to remind the reviewer at your interview of the Saudi clearance unavailability once you have left Saudi Arabia.

Thanks a lot for the response, so as far as i understand i think i can move without the Police Clearance Certificate as i will be exempted through catch 22 if i am not getting it wrong, Is there any other documents that i need to take from Saudi Arabia before leaving from here.
