Hello all,
I have already applied for the I-130 petition for DCF at the consulate in Frankfurt and we are trying to get all the mentioned documents ready ahead of time.
I am not too sure about the police certificates though.
My wife is a German citizen, but was born in China. Additionally, we lived together for two years in California before going back to Germany, where we have been the last 5 years.
1. Do I need to get a police certificate for US and China as well?
2. Presumably, the non-english police reports will need to be translated into english?
3. In the case that she must also obtain a police report for her younger years in China, this may prove to be impossible. China does not appear on the DSL-1083 list, but my wife thinks it will be next to impossible to obtain such a document.
Is there anything we can do in that case?
Also, does her birth certificate need to be translated as well?
BR,
Patrick
