Hi,
My daughter has her Immigrant Visa interview at the US Embassy in London in January - under 'Follow to Join' (I've been a permanent US resident for a couple of years). She is currently at University in the UK with another 2.5 years of her studies remaining (completing June 2017). Our intention is that, assuming the interview goes well and she's granted her visa, she comes to the US during her Easter break to 'claim' her Greencard, and then probably apply for a re-entry permit to cover the period of her remaining studies in the UK to avoid losing her Greencard incase she's out of the US for more than 6 months at a time, until she returns to the US full time.
Is there anything we should be aware of regarding the above during the Embassy interview? Is there anything additional that she is likely to be asked / need to prove at the interview (I'm guessing it will become apparent during the interview that she will be outside the US for the majority of the time until she finishes university)?
I'm assuming what I'm describing isn't that unusual, but would be nice to hear from anyone who's gone through similar as to how it went?
cheers
Steve
