I've received green card via DV lottery, my spouse and child got it at the same time, I'm the main applicant.
Due to personal reasons, I'm currently travelling every few months to the US to maintain my green card and I'm going to apply for Re-Entry permit soon.
I'm not planning to move the us before 3 years (up to 2 re-entry permits).
Travelling with my family & children once a year is complicated and expensive (who want to have 10 hours flight with young children).
If my wife does not enter the us by the end of February, her green card will void, as it will more than one year absence.
So my question, given that I am planning to return permanently to the US after 3 years, is it possible to retain just my green card and file i-130 concurrently for my family members, which will suit long term plans? it will be cheaper and less stressful than retaining green cards for all family members.
Also, is the fact that my family had DV green card which was invalidated due to long absence going to affect future I130?
