  • After I-130...

    Hi,

My US citizen wife has applied for my immigration on 2nd November 2014. We have just received a receipt from USCIS deparment which shows particulars and date of birth along with receipt number. Please guide if we have to submit any documents during this time period? And what will be the next step?

    Zain,

Are you being processed while in the U.S. or in your home country?

If the latter (in your home country), you now have to wait for the I-130 to be approved (in a few months), then expect a fee bill, followed by sponsorship and civil document submittal to the National Visa Center.

      Ray,

I am in my home country and my wife is in USA.
I didn't get what fee bill you are talking.. actually my wife have already paid USD 420 and the receipt I was talking about is receipt of what we have paid.

Further, can you please guide what other documents will be required so we will be ready in advance.

After your wife receives confirmation of the I-130 being approved, you will both receive correspondence from the National Visa Center, including a bill for $120 to your wife to pay for sponsorship processing. She will later receive bill for $325 for the immigrant visa fee.

After paying these fees, she will have to submit sponsorship documents, with form I-864 and supporting evidence, to the NVC. She will later have to send copies or originals of various civil documents (copies or originals depend on which country you you are being processed in), which will include:
        1. Two passport-style photos of you
        2. Police clearance (depending on your country, some country police clearances are not acceptable)
        3. Original certified copies of your birth and marriage certs
        4. Copy of your passport ID page

          Abdou El,

I also would like to thank you for a link. Here actually peoples don't participate and share their experiences. Only senior members like Ray and Peace always helps.

          Regards
