Firstly, Happy New Year! Very much appreciated it if I have answers to my urgent questions.
I have this question as my I-94 status (B2 visa) is expiring end of Feb. I'm not sure if we should apply all the documents (I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, I-1145, I-864) here in US. I just got married with my husband, a US citizen, in US. I don't need to travel outside US as we want to settle down in his hometown and I want to find a new job asap. But with this expiring I-94 status (B2 visa expires in end of March),
1- do I need to leave US while the application is in process? I don't want to stay in US illegally. does it impact my paperwork process if I overstay while waiting for the paperwork?
2- Should I leave US now and apply all the paperwork outside US then? Will it accelerate the process? (But does it complicate the interview process?)
3- If I apply here in US, do I need to have my birth certificate translated by an authorized translation service? What defines an 'authorized service'? Is it the one registered with each State's court? I'm a qualified professional in my field and fluent in both languages, can I translate myself? I may have a translated version by a District's authority in my home city, which I left in my home country. Can I use the scanned of this version? Will it be recognized as a proper paper?
4- Do I need to notarize the birth certificate now (if I need to have it translated by a certified service anyway)? Where to notarize my birth certificate? By my consulate/embassy? Can an authorized translation service by a State's court notarize?
5- Will it be better for my application if I add an I-864 for myself (while my husband prepares one as Petitioner) as I have my own savings that I do not need his financial support?
Thank you very much and looking forward to your response!
