She has been abusing him mentally and physically.. She is not working and stays home all day and every fight has been started from something stupid and she blames him for everything and try to convince him that my brother has problem .. After he left he forgot his wallet and return to get his wallet and find out that His wife called the cops and told them that my brother broke a glass in her head (which was false).. Police examined her and told my brother is for hes own good to leave the house and his wife is toxicated if he stays will turn to domestic violence... He just got hes first year green card .. He doesn't know what to do or how to proceed.. He loves hes wife but in same time he is afraid if he stays something worse will happen.. Tell your brother to not divorce his wife. Let her be the one to divorce him.

He should obtain all proof possible of his wife's erratic behavior and self abuse, including police reports, affidavits from friends and neighbors, proof of counselling.

When it comes time to apply for his "Removal of Conditions" for his 10-year card, your brother will need evidence of his wife's abuse if she will not be a joint filer with him for the "Removal of Conditions" procedure.
