I'm a USC and just got married to an Indian guy. He's been out of F1 status for more than 6 months. My husband already got some undergraduate engineering degree from India and he was going to school for his master degree but then he messed it up so now he's not allowed to work here. I did a lot of internet research and got this forum. I live him a lot and want to keep him here. I tried calling some attorneys about it but there fee is like $1500 + $1450, the problem is I don't have that much of money. I don't have job I got kids to take care of. I have a very little income but that's good enough to go through every month. My mom agreed that she would be a joint sponsor for me but she's not gonna pay for anything.
Should I file papers on my own? The reason he told me to hire an attorney is just because he's out of status and he doesn't wanna be deported. I know it doesn't sound good at all but what should I do? I need help.
