hi ...
my wife sent her citizen certificate to the NVC in 22/12/2014 asking for upgrading my case from F2A to CR1-IR1 and she got the notice from mail that NVC received the stuff we sent ..
until now we did not have any response from NVC ... any one know how long it takes to upgrade my case and start case processing ??

is there any way to check for updates on my case with my NVC case number ??

The NVC does not routinely respond to such changes in file status. The only way to request update or current status information from the NVC is to call or email them. Of late, the NVC has been very slow to respond to email messages, and telephone calls (if you can reach a live person) will connect you to an overworked contract or poorly-trained employee who may give you "feel good" answers to get you off the phone. The best way to counter that kind of phoen treatment is to ask VERY SPECIFIC questions of the NVC person.
